Texas A&M Health Science Center
According to the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention, in 1907 only 3 million people in America
were over the age of 65. As the first baby boomers turn
65 in 2011, that number will increase to over 70 million. The Texas
A&M Health Science Center is committed to addressing the
conditions associated with an aging America.
Preventing health care problems is one way to curtail rising health care costs and improving quality of life. The Health Science Center is building upon the work of a nationally recognized base of experts to become a national resource that will help us better understand the processes important to and essential for healthy aging.
