Located on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station and at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, the college utilizes approximately 700 basic scientists and clinicians to instruct students during the course of their medical education.
The teaching faculty is largely responsible for creating such a positive experience. They have a genuine commitment to provide each student a personalized education. Historically, the college’s small class size has enabled such an intimate experience. As the college expands, the administration continues to hire faculty and seek clinical training opportunities to maintain this valuable part of the school’s culture. One student comments, “No other school, in my opinion, has the same level of relationship with their students."
The approval for expansion through a dual campus model while remaining one medical school has lead to the active recruitment of eight new basic science faculty and the establishment of clinical clerkships in College Station for Pediatrics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, and Family Medicine. Clerkships are also being established for Psychiatry, Medicine, and Surgery.
Through dedicated teaching faculty, careful student selection, and countless service opportunities, the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine distinguishes itself by producing exceptionally skilled and compassionate leaders in medicine.
