Texas A&M Health Science Center
The Texas A&M Health Science Center Foundation
is instrumental in private gift fund raising.
It was established as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in
1999 to help the Health Science Center raise money above
what is available from state funding and to separate private
gifts from public funds. As an independent organization,
the Health Science Center Foundation is more flexible and
can act more expeditiously in accordance with donors' wishes.
Membership
It is led by an experienced and dedicated board of directors who manage and invest private funds earmarked for the HSC: Office of the President, College of Medicine, College of Nursing, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and School of Rural Public Health in College Station; Institute of Biosciences and Technology in Houston, Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy in Kingsville, and Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. The ten-member board held its first annual meeting in January 2003.
